Tilicho Lake Trek takes you to the world’s highest lake, Tilicho, located in Nepal’s Annapurna region at 4,919 meters. Known as the “jewel of the Himalayas,” the lake offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and a chance to explore picturesque villages, valleys, and lush forests.

Along the way, you’ll meet welcoming locals from various ethnic groups and enjoy the diverse flora and fauna of the region. The trek can be combined with the Annapurna Circuit and offers a unique adventure, especially through the remote Mesokanto La Pass (5,469m). Itineraries

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu (1,350m)

  • Activities: Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, where Pure Sherpa adventure representative will welcome you and transfer to your hotel. Evening our guide will explain you about the tomorrow’s trip.  
  • Highlights: Orientation session with your trekking guide, review itinerary, and check gear.
  • Overnight: 3 star category Hotel in Kathmandu.
  • Meals: Welcome dinner with traditional Nepali cuisine.

 

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Dharapani (1,960m)

  • Duration: 8–9 hours by jeep or bus.
  • Route: Journey begins with a scenic drive along the Trishuli River, passing terraced fields, small villages, and lush forests.
  • Highlights: Views of Ganesh Himal and Mt. Manaslu on the way.
  • Overnight: Teahouse in Dharapani.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

 

Day 3: Trek to Chame (2,710m)

  • Duration: 5–6 hours.
  • Trail Description: Moderate ascent through pine and oak forests, crossing suspension bridges over the Marsyangdi River.
  • Highlights: First glimpse of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.
  • Overnight: Teahouse in Chame.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

 

Day 4: Trek to Pisang (3,115m)

  • Duration: 4–5 hours.
  • Trail Description: Gradual climb through forests and rocky ridges. Walk alongside waterfalls and explore Buddhist mani walls.
  • Highlights: Panoramic views of Pisang Peak and Annapurna range.
  • Overnight: Teahouse in Pisang.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

 

Day 5: Trek to Manang (3,540m)

  • Duration: 6–7 hours.
  • Trail Options:
    • Lower Route: Follows the Marsyangdi River.
    • Upper Route: A challenging path through Ghyaru and Ngawal villages, offering spectacular views.
  • Highlights: Tibetan culture, monasteries, and stunning mountain scenery.
  • Overnight: Teahouse in Manang.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

 

Day 6: Acclimatization Day at Manang

  • Activities: Rest day to adapt to the altitude.
    • Short hikes to nearby spots such as Gangapurna Lake or Bhojo Gumba.
  • Highlights: Explore the ancient village, learn about altitude sickness prevention, and enjoy breathtaking views of Annapurna and Tilicho Peak.
  • Overnight: Teahouse in Manang.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

 

Day 7: Trek from Manang to Tilicho Base Camp (4,150m)

  • Duration: 5–6 hours.
  • Trail Description: Follow a rugged trail past Khangsar Village and Shree Kharka, with spectacular views of the Annapurna range.
  • Highlights: First glimpses of Tilicho Peak and glacier streams.
  • Overnight: Teahouse at Tilicho Base Camp.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

 

Day 8: Hike to Tilicho Lake (4,920m) and Return to Base Camp & Trek to Shree Kharka

  • Duration: 7–8 hours.
  • Trail Description: Early morning hike to Tilicho Lake, the highest lake in the world. Return via the same path to Tilicho Base Camp and proceed to Shree Kharka.
  • Highlights: Majestic views of Tilicho Lake, surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
  • Overnight: Teahouse in Shree Kharka.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

 

Day 9: Trek from Shree Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,500m)

  • Duration: 7–8 hours.
  • Trail Description: Cross the landslide-prone area, then ascend gradually towards Thorong Phedi.
  • Highlights: Dramatic landscapes and distant views of Thorong Peak.
  • Overnight: Teahouse in Thorong Phedi.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

 

Day 10: Trek from Thorong Phedi via Thorong La Pass (5,416m) to Muktinath (3,802m)

  • Duration: 7–9 hours.
  • Trail Description: A challenging climb to Thorong La Pass, the highest point of the trek, followed by a steep descent to Muktinath.
  • Highlights: Incredible sunrise views from the pass, and a visit to the Muktinath temple, a sacred site for Hindus and Buddhists.
  • Overnight: Teahouse in Muktinath.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

 

Day 11: Drive from Muktinath to Tatopani (1,300m)

  • Duration: 5–6 hours by jeep.
  • Activities: Scenic drive along the Kali Gandaki River, passing apple orchards in Marpha and the town of Jomsom.
  • Highlights: Relax in the natural hot springs at Tatopani.
  • Overnight: Teahouse in Tatopani.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 12: Trek from Tatopani to Ghorepani (2,870m)

  • Duration: 7–8 hours.
  • Trail Description: A steep climb through rhododendron forests and traditional Gurung villages.
  • Highlights: Stunning views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.
  • Overnight: Teahouse in Ghorepani.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

 

Day 13: Hike to Poon Hill (3,210m), Trek to Nayapul (1,000m), and Drive to Pokhara (850m)

  • Duration: 7–8 hours (2-hour hike, 5–6-hour trek and drive).
  • Activities: Early morning hike to Poon Hill for a panoramic sunrise view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Descend to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara.
  • Overnight: Hotel in Pokhara.
  • Meals: Breakfast and lunch.

 

Day 14: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,400m)

  • Duration: 6–7 hours by tourist bus or private vehicle or flight
  • Highlights: Scenic drive with views of the Trishuli River.
  • Overnight: Hotel in Kathmandu.
  • Meals: Breakfast and farewell dinner.

 

Day 15: Final Departure

Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your finale departure and Say goodbye to Nepal with unforgettable memories of your trek.
