Itineraries

Kyajo Ri Climbing Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m / 4,429ft)
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, pure Sherpa    representative will welcome you at Kathmandu airport and transfer you to hotel. After checking in, you’ll have time to relax and explore the bustling streets of Kathmandu. Evening ours guide will explain you about your climbing and further program. 

Day 2: Trip Preparation Day (1,350m / 4,429ft)
Today, you will spend the day preparing for the trek. This includes meeting your Sherpa guide, finalizing permits, and checking your gear. If time allows, you can explore the cultural and historical landmarks of Kathmandu, such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) or Boudhanath Stupa. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Fly to Lukla (2,800m / 9,187ft) and Trek to Phakding (3-4 hrs)
An early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla awaits you. The 40-minute flight offers spectacular views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Lukla, your trekking adventure begins with a 3-4 hour trek to Phakding, where you’ll spend the night in a local lodge.

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,438m / 11,280ft) – 5-6 hrs
Today’s trek takes you along the Dudh Koshi River, passing through small Sherpa villages and crossing several suspension bridges. As you ascend, the trail becomes steeper, with stunning views of Mount Everest and neighboring peaks. The vibrant village of Namche Bazaar is a bustling trading hub and a great place to spend the night.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar (3,438m / 11,280ft)
Take a day to acclimatize to the high altitude. You can explore Namche Bazaar, visit the local market, or take a short hike to Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. This rest day is essential to prevent altitude sickness and prepare for the upcoming trek. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 6: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Mende (3,736m / 12,258ft) – 5-6 hrs
Today, you’ll leave the busy trails of Namche behind and follow a quieter path toward Mende. The trek takes you through alpine forests and offers sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. Mende is a small Sherpa settlement where you’ll spend the night.

Day 7: Trek from Mende to Kyajo Ri Base Camp (4,550m / 14,929ft) – 5-6 hrs
The trail today takes you higher into the Khumbu region, passing through rocky terrain and glacial landscapes. The climb to Kyajo Ri Base Camp is a challenging but rewarding experience with stunning views of the surrounding peaks. You’ll camp at base camp for the night and prepare for the ascent ahead.

Day 8: Rest Day at Kyajo Ri Base Camp (4,550m / 14,929ft)
This is an acclimatization day to help your body adjust to the higher altitude. Resting here will prepare you for the climb ahead. You can also use this time to organize your gear, do a light hike, and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

Day 9: Trek from Kyajo Ri Base Camp to Camp I (5,200m / 17,061ft)
Today, you’ll begin your ascent to Camp I, where you’ll get closer to the summit. The trek involves navigating through rocky terrain and snow-covered paths. The views become more dramatic as you gain altitude. After reaching Camp I, rest and prepare for the next stage of the climb.

Day 10: Acclimatization and Rest Day at Camp I (5,200m / 17,061ft)
A crucial acclimatization day at Camp I allows your body to adjust to the altitude and get used to the harsh conditions. You’ll rest and hydrate, ensuring you’re in optimal condition for the push to Camp II.

Day 11: Trek from Camp I to Camp II (5,700m / 18,702ft)
Today’s climb takes you higher as you ascend towards Camp II. The terrain becomes more technical, with snow and ice slopes that will require careful navigation. Upon reaching Camp II, you’ll rest and prepare for the final push to the summit.

Day 12: Summit Day and Return to Camp II (6,186m / 20,296ft)
The summit day is the highlight of the climb. Starting early in the morning, you’ll make your way up steep ice and snow slopes, using crampons and ropes to reach the summit of Kyajo Ri. The panoramic views from the top are absolutely stunning, with Everest, Lhotse, and other Himalayan giants on display. After reaching the summit, descend back to Camp II for the night.

Day 13: Trek Back to Base Camp (4,550m / 14,929ft) – 4-5 hrs
After a successful summit, you’ll retrace your steps back down to Kyajo Ri Base Camp. The descent is easier, but still requires caution as you navigate the rocky terrain. Once at Base Camp, you can rest and celebrate your achievement.

Day 14: Trek from Base Camp to Namche Bazaar (3,438m / 11,280ft) – 5-6 hrs
Today, you’ll begin your descent back down to Namche Bazaar, retracing the trail through alpine forests and Sherpa villages. Enjoy the views as you head toward the bustling town of Namche for an overnight stay.

Day 15: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,800m / 9,187ft) – 6-7 hrs
The trek from Namche to Lukla is one of the final legs of your journey. As you descend, you’ll pass through familiar villages and suspension bridges. Upon arrival in Lukla, celebrate the completion of your climb with your team.

Day 16: Fly to Kathmandu (1,350m / 4,429ft)
Take a morning flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla, soaking in the last views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel where you can relax or explore the city one last time.

Day 17: Final Departure
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight home, marking the end of your unforgettable Kyajo Ri climbing adventure.
