Itineraries
Yala Peak Climbing Itinerary (12 Days)
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,429ft)
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, where pure Sherpa adventure’s representative will welcome you and transfer to hotel. If time permits, explore the vibrant streets of Kathmandu, enjoy a local meal, or visit nearby temples and markets to get a feel of the city. Evening our guide will explain you about the climbing trip.
Day 2: Preparation Day & Sightseeing Tour
Spend the day preparing for the trek by checking your gear and permits. In the afternoon, enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu, visiting iconic cultural and historical landmarks like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), popular Hundu’s temple Pashupatinath , or World heritage site Boudhanath Stupa as well . This will give your insight into Nepal’s rich heritage and spiritual life.
Day 3: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,460m/4,790ft)
After breakfast, embark on a scenic 7-8 hour drive to Syabrubesi, the starting point of your trek. The journey takes you through winding mountain roads with breathtaking views of the Langtang range and lush valleys. Upon arrival, check into a local lodge and rest for the night in preparation for the trek.
Day 4: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,480m/8,103ft)
Begin your trek today by heading through dense forests filled with rhododendron, oak, and pine trees. You’ll cross the Langtang River and follow the trail upstream to reach Lama Hotel. The trek takes approximately 5-6 hours, and upon arrival, relax and enjoy a warm meal at your lodge.
Day 5: Trek to Langtang Village (3,430m/11,253ft)
Continue your journey along the Langtang Valley, passing through traditional Tamang villages. Along the way, you’ll cross suspension bridges and enjoy views of Langtang Lirung and the surrounding mountains. After a 6-7 hour trek, reach Langtang Village, a charming settlement where you’ll spend the night.
Day 6: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft)
Today, trek to Kyangjin Gompa, the final stop before reaching the base camp. This beautiful village is home to a Buddhist monastery, and you’ll be surrounded by towering peaks like Langtang Lirung. The trek will take around 4-5 hours, and once you arrive, enjoy the serenity of the valley and the incredible views of snow-capped peaks.
Day 7: Rest Day & Hike to Tserko Ri (5,000m/16,404ft)
Take a well-deserved rest day for acclimatization. Hike to Tserko Ri for panoramic views of the Langtang range, including Langtang Lirung, Gangchempo, and Dorje Lakpa. The hike will take 4-5 hours round trip and offers stunning views, helping you adjust to the higher altitude.
Day 8: Trek to Yala Peak Base Camp (4,800m/15,748ft)
From Kyangjin Gompa, head towards the base camp of Yala Peak. The trek will take 3-4 hours and follows a narrow trail through alpine meadows and rocky terrain. Once at base camp, you’ll be surrounded by towering peaks, setting the stage for your summit climb.
Day 9: Summit Yala Peak (5,500m/18,045ft) & Return to Kyangjin Gompa
The big day has arrived! Early in the morning, start your summit climb to Yala Peak. The ascent takes 4-5 hours, but the breathtaking 360-degree views from the summit make the effort worthwhile. You’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and other peaks in the Langtang range. After the summit, descend back to Kyangjin Gompa to rest and recover.
Day 10: Trek to Lama Hotel
Descend down the valley, retracing your steps from Kyangjin Gompa to Lama Hotel. The descent is easier, taking around 6-7 hours, and provides a different perspective of the Langtang Valley. Overnight at Lama Hotel.
Day 11: Trek to Syabrubesi
Continue your descent to Syabrubesi, where you’ll spend your last night on the trek. After 5-6 hours of trekking, you’ll arrive in Syabrubesi and rest before the drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 12: Drive Back to Kathmandu
After breakfast, take the scenic drive back to Kathmandu. The 7-8 hour journey offers beautiful views of the countryside, and upon arrival in Kathmandu, check into your hotel.
Day 13: Final Departure
After an unforgettable adventure, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight back home, carrying memories of the Himalayas and a lifetime of experiences.
